NSCC Ivany Campus Student Housing

FBM is part of a provincial investment to bring safe and inclusive student housing to NSCC’s Ivany and Pictou Campuses. The projects will transform the campuses from transient areas into residential communities that enliven, enrich, and animate the vitality of campus life, local business, and cultural spaces. The designs are guided by a collective commitment to social and environmental sustainability that supplements the housing inventory in these communities. The project supports sustainable building—it has been designed by Certified Passive House team members to include better than NBC insulation, low thermal bridging, high efficiency centralized heat recovery ventilators, simplified form and low window to wall ratio, and an envelope design detailed for air tightness.
