Emera Place

The renovation of 5151 Terminal Road in Halifax helped Emera realize their vision of a downtown campus. Along with a complete interior renovation, the 40-year-old curtain wall cladding was upgraded with a higher-performing glazing system and the addition of thermal breaks within the caps. A new mechanical system ties into the existing seawater cooling infrastructure used at NSPI’s Headquarters across the street. This project makes a strong case for renovating existing building stock and resisting the tabula rasa tendencies of Canadian cities.
