Kieron joined FBM after an 18-year career in Vancouver, BC to lead the firm’s Planning Studio. Before joining the talented team at FBM Kieron owned his own planning consulting firm and prior to that served as the Director of Canadian Operations for a US-based multi-office Architectural & Engineering firm.
A graduate of Simon Fraser University focusing on Planning, Urban Studies & Economic Development, Kieron has worked around the world on planning assignments; working extensively throughout Canada and the US, as well as in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon and Egypt.
Kieron’s specialty lies in land use planning, market analysis and engagement for public and private sector clientele in communities ranging from 1,000 to 1 million+. He has provided transparent, insightful and comprehensive guidance on projects that comprise mixed-use, waterfront villages, main streets, smaller and rural downtowns, urban city centres, alpine resorts, university campuses and office & industrial complexes.
In July 2019, Kieron was part of a collaborative team that won a Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) Award of Excellence for Small Town/Rural Planning. Since 2007, he has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In this volunteer capacity he has served as the National Co-Chair for ICSC’s P3Retail program; whose mission is to pave the way for sustainable development that improves the quality of life in local communities. Kieron frequently speaks at Planning and Economic Development Conferences and served on the Editorial Committee for the ICSC/IEDC publication “Retail as a Catalyst for Economic Development”.
Kieron works tirelessly as a planning advocate and prides himself on providing the client-focused service, combined with implementable deliverables that exceed client and community expectations.
