Mark joined FBM in 2003 and become a shareholder in the firm in 2015. Mark graduated from Nova Scotia Community College with a Diploma in Architectural Drafting. Driven by his passion for building science and knowledge of construction, he completed his studies at Ryerson University where he obtained a Bachelor of Architectural Science (B.ArchSc).
With 15 years’ experience in document production and coordination, construction administration and project management, Mark manages the production department within the firm. Mark has worked on a variety of project types and scales, both new construction and renovations, ranging from public schools, institutional and civic buildings, and commercial buildings. Mark is an instrumental member of the project team and is often responsible for the management of construction documents for some of the firm’s most complex and award winning projects, including the Halifax Central Library and the Cabot Links Lodge.
Backed by his strong technical background and capabilities, Mark is responsible for creating and implementing FBM’s current CAD/BIM protocols and drawing standards. Mark is also responsible for execution and adoption of the firm’s project management software. In addition to his architectural responsibilities, Mark manages the information technology within the office.
Mark is a LEED® Accredited Professional (BD+C), and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the East Coast Building Enclosure Council (ECBEC) as Secretary and Communications Chair and also a committee member of the Nova Scotia Construction Curling Association (NSCCA).
