Wayne Duncan

Wayne is the vice-president of FBM. He completed his studies in architecture at the Technical University of Nova Scotia (BSc, BEDS, BArch). Immediately after graduating university in 1980 he started his career with FBM and has since been involved with the firm's largest and most complex projects.

With over 37 years of experience, Wayne leads the firm’s production department by providing expertise and mentorship in the development of design, construction documents, and construction administration services. He is responsible for managing the construction detailing with the project team, drawing production, coordination and supervision of other technical personnel during the construction documents phase, and coordination of construction site activities, shop drawing review and coordination and communication with other design consultants.

Wayne has been extensively involved in computer aided drafting since FBM first adopted such a system in 1982 and he has continued to coordinate the firm's computer operations as the internal CAD Manager. He is responsible for many of the quality management protocols for the firm.

As a construction detail expert, Wayne’s contributions have led to some of FBM’s most honorable achievements, including, a Governor General's Medal in Architecture, and a nomination for the "World Building of the Year" (Civic and Community category) at the World Architecture Festival for the Halifax Central Library.
